The Trouble with "Trendy"
You have probably noticed that many health products are being presented to you as being "trendy". So you usually hear the words: "They Say". Who is "They"? They say this is the newest and suddenly popular thing. They say everyone is getting on board with this great new trendy thing. We understand. New can be exciting! It feels like we are making a discovery:
A new nutritional nugget to help us realize our health goal - fast and easy.
Get a new body for the beach - look fabulous - instantly.
Of course, some things haven't changed:
What our bodies need hasn't changed for thousands of years.
The fundamental nutrients - including protein, vitamins, minerals - even carbohydrates and fat! - they haven't changed.
Cheap plant protein has always been available. Cheap plant protein that has lower protein quality, hasn't changed. It is still cheaper to use plant protein.
So what has changed?
The Marketing. The Marketers have figured out how to transform things that are low cost, and low value - cheap plant protein and the latest new health supplement "discovery" - into expensive trendy things.
When a company buys something for a low price, and sells that same thing to you for a high price, they make a lot of money. One trendy supplement charges $130 for a one month supply - and that only gives you one serving per day, and there are only 17 grams of lower quality plant protein in one serving! That is 3 times the price of the same amount of UNJURY® protein.
So the trendy supplement has lots of money left over to sell you. Lots of money to pay people to be representatives - who try to recruit you to be a representative.
What to do?
When you hear the latest nutritional gossip about how something is trendy, or "supposed to be good for you" just stop and think. Where's the medical research? Who did the research? Was it paid for by the company itself? Has it stood the test of time ? will it be "trendy" next year?
One trendy labeling game is to use exotic ingredients such as "Holy Basil"? "ashwaganda"? Luo Han Guo? Camu Camu? Should we really trust exotic ingredients that we don't know the real benefits of, let alone can even pronounce? Sometimes these are herbal ingredients from China, and herbal ingredients are one of the areas where the New York State Attorney General's office has highlighted extensive fraud.
At UNJURY® Protein and OPURITY® Vitamins, we don't try to exploit you. We don't sell TRENDY. We put in the best possible ingredients - we think more so than any other company. We sell TRUSTED...trusted products that are the best choice for your body and your needs.
