Riddle: Which Liquid is More Solid Than Solid?
Usually when you hear “supplement”, it generally means an add-on.
An ice maker is a nice add-on for a fridge, but it’s an add-on. It’s not essential.
So it’s actually kind of odd when the protein from UNJURY® is called a protein supplement.
It isn’t really a supplement—an add- on. It’s essential. Why? Because…
- Protein is the heart of every cell in your body: muscle, bone, brain, heart, organs.
- Protein is the heart of your immune system: you need good levels of protein every day to make white cells every day.
- Protein is the heart of weight loss and weight management. Look at all of the diets that really focus on protein. Whether it’s a low-fat or low-carb diet, it’s still higher in protein.
- Remember, muscle burns almost all of the calories your body uses. So to lose weight --and keep it off-- you need to maintain muscle during weight loss. That takes protein.
OK, so wouldn’t something like a piece of beef or fish be even more essential, even more solid?
Actually not. Not for your body. Whether your protein is from a piece of steak or from UNJURY, the tiny bits of protein–the protein molecules--have similar value. Each protein molecule has to be broken down for your body to use.
The protein in UNJURY actually has higher value than beef, chicken, or fish. It’s higher value than every other protein source. Because UNJURY not only has a protein quality score of 100, it also has a far better amino acid profile. Even better, it has the most leucine, an amino acid that is essential to making more tissue, such as muscle.
So nutritionally, no food is more SOLID than an UNJURY protein shake. So that is the answer to the riddle!
In one of our recent UNJURY Cares Support Group Meetings, guest panelist Maria Tadic, RD, stated, “As we age, we want to maintain good muscle mass. You need protein for that. You need those high-quality protein supplements to make sure you’re getting a fairly high dose of protein.”
There is strong medical research supporting the needed intake of 90 grams of high-quality protein per day, especially for those over the age of 40. Specifically 30 grams 3 times per day.
So, when you hear the term “protein supplement“, consider mentally replacing that phrase with “protein essential“.
