It started with just one personal story...
Pregnancy is an exciting time, but it can also be stressful. You have a tiny human being, or more, depending on you for everything! And you’re not always feeling your best, be it morning sickness, swelling, or just sheer exhaustion. Knowing this, we are always happy to hear stories from patients about UNJURY helping them through a difficult time in pregnancy, and best yet—ultimately improving the health and well-being of their precious babies!
An UNJURY® Baby Story
One such story came from a health professional we know who was expecting twins. She had started using UNJURY Chicken Soup during the early months of the pregnancy to help with morning sickness. And indeed, it did help her battle the constant feeling of nausea while also providing the nourishment she and her babies needed. Little did she know that UNJURY would play an even bigger role as her pregnancy continued.
A couple months later a serious problem developed where one of the babies was not growing as fast—Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome. One of the ways to address the problem was to increase protein intake substantially. The mom did that by using UNJURY. In the end, the twins were not only both fine, but they were both born at very healthy weights, especially for twins – about 7 pounds each. Needless to say, mom was very happy and relieved!
One of the benefits of being larger than average twins is that it helps them avoid the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). According to one federal study, about 30 percent of all twins end up in a neonatal intensive care unit. This can be a very scary time, especially when all you long to do is welcome your babies home.
Another UNJURY® Baby Story
Another mom we heard about through a Registered Dietitian we know started using UNJURY early on in her pregnancy, for morning sickness, and continued with it throughout the pregnancy because she enjoyed it so much. At each check-up, her Obstetrician commented on the healthy development of the baby, which she believed had a lot to do with the mom’s high quality protein intake.
The RD we know, who works with a Perinatologist (an Obstetrician who specializes in multiples and other high risk pregnancies) wholeheartedly agreed. She confirmed she had observed similar outcomes for pregnant patients who use UNJURY, and that the Perinatologist with whom she works recommends UNJURY to all her patients. *
* This is the specific advice of one Perinatologist to her own patients. Twins and multiples are often underweight, but being born at a healthy weight can help prevent them from going to the NICU. Consult your own doctor for advice specific to your own needs.
Questions?
Of course, we cannot promise that UNJURY always results in healthier birth weights. These are stories and medical observations, not formal medical research. However, we can say that we believe protein is very important to your growing baby, and that getting the protein levels recommended by the National Academy of Medicine is a good start.
UNJURY is trusted and recommended at America’s Top-Rated Hospitals. The protein we use is a very high quality Whey Protein Isolate, which comes from milk. So, the protein in UNJURY is as safe as milk.
