Ready to Drink is a winner—I will never drink powder protein again!
I know this is vegan sourced protein so I was expecting some difference but YIKES! Although I'm not vegan, I do try to limit my animal sourced products whenever possible. This will not be one of those times. The texture started chalky and then finished slimy. The flavor was very flat and very artificial. It was almost metallic in flavor. This is only the second time in almost 10 years that I've ever said that I don't like an Unjury product. (Cheese Sauce being the other with many of the same sentiments for that product.) I truly hope that a few refinements are made on this product. If a new formula is released, I will certainly try it again but until that happens, this ain't happening!
I love this planted Chocolate I make a smoothie out of it with ice in the blender every day for breakfast.
Basically reminds me of chocolate milk
Great for on the go!
I got a few of the packets to try out before buying a full container. I get really bad acne when I use whey protein so I have been looking for a plant based protein powder to make protein shakes after I go to the gym. I am also a Registered Dietitian, and certainly appreciate the more 'natural' approach to designing this product. No artificial flavors or sweeteners. Good amino acid profile. It is a bit sweet for my taste, could do without the stevia, but I really don't have a sweet tooth. A negative for me is that when I blended one serving with milk for only about 5 seconds it became incredibly frothy, and it did not settle back down. Its a bit difficult to just stir in with a spoon. But that's how it is for most protein powders! Overall enjoy this product. Will be trying the unflavored next.
Great Product - Want More Flavors
I am a HUGE fan of all things Unjury - and really wanted to be a fan of their new line...sadly this was not the case. Last time I placed my ordered the regular line of chocolate was out of stock and because I am such a fan of their other products, thought it was worth a try. I found it to be very grainy but more disappointing than that, as it sits it separates. This is an issue for me as I typically make my shakes (with coffee as the base liquid adding only a scoop of unjury powder to make my coffee the perfect level of sweet & creamy) then drink it in the car while driving to work. The original Unjury powder once mixed, did not require me to shake it anymore. The planted line...each sip - I had to make sure my shaker bottle was closed, shake it, and pop it back open. Needless to say, all that, plus driving = not safe... so I changed my routine to drink my shake before leaving the house. As my luck would have it, I hit traffic, with a full bladder :( so had to change my routine Again! So I started making my shake at work. I found myself making other food choices instead of my shake because I generally disliked the taste and consistency. To my taste, it is not creamy enough, not the right level of sweetness and I just didn't like the consistency . So the long and short of it is that I gave it a shot, and found out its not for me. Perhaps those needing a plant based option of protein, this is their answer - but for me, I purchased 2 containers, and will take the hit on the second unopened container as I just can't make myself drink it! I just reordered the original powder and won't stray again! Sorry UNjury!
